Maasai Mara Safari

Kenya's greatest wildlife spectacle, and one of the most extraordinary places on earth. The Maasai Mara National Reserve covers 1,510 square kilometres of open savannah in south-western Kenya, home to the densest concentration of wildlife on the continent. Lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and cheetah move through the grass year-round. From July to October the Great Migration rolls in from the Serengeti, over a million wildebeest and zebra crossing the Mara River in one of nature's most dramatic acts. This is a three-day safari that puts you inside the reserve for two full game drives each day, with accommodation in a tented camp on the Mara's edge. You cover the main reserve, the Mara River crossing points, the Oloololo escarpment and the open plains where the big cats hunt at dawn. A bush breakfast on the first morning and a sundowner on the last evening frame the days properly. Our guides are KWS-certified and Mara-specialist. They have spent years reading this landscape, tracking lion prides by ear, positioning vehicles at the river before the crossing starts, finding the leopard in the fig tree that everyone else drove past. They do not follow other vehicles. They find their own sightings.
