Kenya’s most rewarding day climb. Elephant Hill rises through farmland, bamboo and high moorland to a wind-scoured ridge at 3,658 m — a proper mountain day that ends with the whole Rift laid out below you.
The trail begins at the Njabini Forest Station gate and travels to the peak and back over roughly 18 kilometres. It takes about 7–8 hours to make the round trip at a reasonable pace, with the final push along an exposed ridge that earns the hill its reputation. Expect cold mornings, fast-changing weather and some of the cleanest air in central Kenya.
Our guides have walked this route for years. We move as a group, set an honest pace, and carry the safety kit so you can keep your eyes on the moorland and your mind on the climb.
